The Practice Bike Fitment Studio

In order to enjoy your ride, you need the correct bike fitment.
We have a holistic approach to cycling and we look at every aspect of your bike fitment to ensure that each bike is fitted to their rider providing more power, better support, stability and efficiency
The 3 contact area’s we focus on are:
• Foot to pedal interface
• Posterior chain to saddle interface
• Hand to bar interface
By ensuring the 3 contact areas are supported, stable and efficient we are then able to fine tune the bike to the rider ensuring maximum benefit while riding in real world situations.
Riding a bike in the real world is different to doing a fitment in a studio and for this reason our team of fitment specialists understand that the continuous evolution of a bike fitment can change from one season to the next.
Our bike fitters are cyclists as well who are continuously learning, adapting and encouraging others to educate themselves through bike fit.

Our fitments are always done in 3 phases and below outlines the phases that you will be introduced to throughout the process:

Foot to pedal interface:

Every rider has a different foot profile and for this reason we have enlisted top of the range foot pressure mapping technology from Zebris. Accurate representation of how your foot is putting pressure on the ground throughout your daily life as well as throughout your pedal stroke is important to ensure that you are getting the benefit of a proper cleat setup which provides you with the biggest and most stable platform.
Through pressure mapping (*Zebris) as well as pedal stroke analysis (*Elite and Wattbike) we are able to show each rider where they are able to provide more power to their pedal stroke as well as more efficiency.

More efficiency = less fatigue
Less fatigue = more power
More power = more speed

Posterior chain to saddle interface:
Most cyclists spend more time complaining about saddle pressure than actually sitting on their saddles. With our Pressure mapping technology by Zebris we are able to measure the exact distance that your sit-bones are apart to provide you with the most stable platform to provide power to your pedal stroke.
If you are not sitting comfortably on the saddle you are not able to activate your posterior chain in the correct way. By ensuring that your saddle height is right for your flexibility and your core stability we are then able to focus on activating your core and posterior chain throughout the pedal stroke. Providing you with the best position to generate the most amount of power at your most efficient rate.

Hand to Handlebar Interface:
As a bike rider it is important to be comfortable, confident and stable when riding on the open road. Ensuring that your reach is optimal your stability will improve which ensures confidence and comfort while turning corners, riding in a bunch or just riding along!

Aerodynamic optimisation bike fitment:
Are you looking to shave minutes off your time trial or Ironman event or are you just looking to go fast, be aero and ensure maximum efficiency.
We specialize in making sure your bike and rider profile is as aerodynamic as possible while ensuring absolute comfort in the most aerodynamic position that you as a rider can achieve.
This fitment is for riders looking for that extra benefit against the clock where milliseconds matter. Each rider who comes on this fitment will get the benefit of the usual bike fitment as above and then will also be adjusted according to a real world CDA calculation from our Motionysis Software. This software allows us to generate data at power values with a CDA calculation that mimics real world riding which is the closest you will come to being in a wind tunnel.
Optimisation doesn’t just save you time it saves Watts as well for when you need them most!
The bike fitment options:
• Single Bike Fitment - R1500
• Two Bike Fitments - R2500
• Aero optimisation fitment – R2500
• Follow-up (same bike) - R750
• New cleat installation (new shoes / cleats) with or without pressure mapping - R500
• Bike Measurement with XY mapping - R250
• Pressure mapping for runners and triathletes – R350
•
Please take note:
• The fees are for the actual assessment time and labour, it excludes any cleats/wedges/spacers/saddles or seat posts.

• A comprehensive bike setup takes approximately 90 minutes for one bike.

• Cleat setup with previous bike fitment will take approximately 30 minutes.

• The bike measurement with XY mapping will take 15 minutes per bike.

• Our Aerodynamic optimisation will take between 2.5 and 3 hours for the fitment and the completion of the bike will be subject to availability of spare parts for the riders bike. Integrated cockpit rebuilds as well as rerouting of cables will be part of a separate process outside of the fitment time and will be confirmed once the optimisation is complete.
